Celebrating Mother’s Day

Celebrating Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner (Sunday, May 10) and if this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s to appreciate and cherish our loved ones.

Some of us may be quarantining with our extended families and get to celebrate Mother’s Day in-person. Be sure to spend quality time with your mom (grandma, aunt or maternal figure in your life).

For those who are quarantining away from their mother, there are still ways you shower her with love and appreciation. Sending flowers is a classic and thoughtful gesture while still being responsible and maintaining social distance.

Flowers are a traditional gift for Mother’s Day and remain a quintessential part of celebrating. A popular floral choice is the pink carnation, Dianthus caryophyllus, which symbolizes motherhood and a mother’s undying love. If pink isn’t your taste, their ruffled petals also come in a variety of other whimsical colours.

Other notable florals for this holiday are roses, tulips and lilies – all wonderful options with their own unique features and characteristics to impress the mother in your life.

Any of these blooms can be incorporated into a hand-tied bouquet, a beautiful vase arrangement, or a boxed floral gift to arrive at your mother’s door!
